Keeping the germs away

We all understand the importance of keeping ourselves and our hands clean and avoiding the spreading of germs. With swine flu still being a concern throughout the United Kingdom, we are having it drilled in to us more and more about how crucial it is to prevent the spread of disease.

This is particularly the case where children are concerned. Germs spread amongst children quickly for various reasons. Firstly, they are curious which means they pick things up, put things in their mouth and rub their eyes. They do not naturally know the possible consequences behind their actions, it is just innocent interest.

Secondly, children are still building up their immune system so any bugs that do get passed on are not as easy to shift. Of course, we cannot wrap our children in cotton wool otherwise they will never develop immunity and will also live in a world of fear.

The trick is to teach children how vital it is to carry out the simplest of daily tasks such as washing their hands after using the toilet, using a tissue to blow their nose and covering their mouths when they cough.

To keep it light-hearted whilst still getting the message across can be tricky, so what can help this is to provide healthy stickers which children can receive to remind them to do these things.

At Brainwaves, our range of healthy living stickers is simply ideal for giving to children for multiple purposes. Good children can be rewarded for following a healthy lifestyle by being given stickers relating to the specific subject.

Alternatively, stickers can be placed within a book or album or on their pencil cases or notice boards to remind them to carry out these basic tasks.

Whichever way you choose to use your healthy stickers, they are a great way of ensuring germs are kept at bay.
