Types Of Acne Scars And Their Treatments

Acne or pimples are nightmares to many people. Usually, during puberty acne appear. The hormonal imbalance causes acne. Atrophic Scars

With less amount of fibroblast, the skin does not produce enough collagen to fill the wound. Hence the wound becomes indented. Usually, atrophic scars look like small pits.

Hypertrophic Scars

These scars are opposite to atrophic scars. These scars are raised. Hypertrophic scars happen if the fibroblasts produce excess collagen. Hence, the wounded area becomes raised than the surrounding area. You can use no scars skin soap to lighten these type of software acne scars.

Keloid Scars

These scars look like hypertrophic scars but look much denser than the hypertrophic scars. But are much denser and often look darker than the surrounding area. Keloid scars appear dark brown or red colored. This type of scar may cause itchiness and redness. Keloid scars also do not go away easily.

Usually, scars fade with time but that may need a lot of time. You can use over the counter creams or soaps or lotions to make the scars smaller or lighter. There are a lot of no scars night soap or lotions available in the market. These products are affordable and you do not need a doctor’s prescription for them. But, for keloid scars, you have to use silicone sheets. Because the truth is keloids are hard to remove and they need a lot of medical attention.

Salicylic Acid

Salicylic acid is a common ingredient in over the counter scar removal products. This natural compound cleans dirt and debris from skin and pores and also removes the dead cells. These sorts and dead cells clog the pores and lead to acne or pimples. Salicylic acid also gives relief from inflammation and redness. If you have acne-prone skin then acne preventing product with salicylic acid is a must for your daily beauty care regimen. But if you have sensitive skin try to use the product in the only affected area. Salicylic acid is good for all types of acne scars.

Retinol

Retinol is generally used to treat wrinkles or fine lines. But this chemical can be beneficial for acne scars. Retinol reduces acne lesson, inflammation and encourages cell regeneration. It also cures hyperpigmentation caused by acne. But retinol makes skin sensitive to sunlight. Hence, if you are using any scar removing product which contains retinol, always apply sunscreen before going out.

Acnes cannot be cured completely. But they can be kept under control with proper skincare routine and a healthy diet. There are also many products that can reduce acne scars.
