For any company employing the services of someone who is to be required to work at height, it is a pre-requisite to ensure that they have adequate training in the operation of the equipment they will be using.
At Kingfisher Access, we have spent many years developing IPAF training courses which, because we are members of the International Powered Access Federation (IPAF), our IPAF training can lead to nationally recognised qualifications. There is an assurance therefore, for both the employer and the individuals concerned, that they can feel proficient in the use of the equipment on completion of our IPAF training courses.
Training should never stop with the learning how to operate the machinery however, and IPAF training instructors have built up a great deal of technical knowledge and very practical experience to enable them to train your people to get the most from your equipment.
When working at height, health and safety is paramount in ensuring that there is nothing left to chance. Your well being whilst working at height is very important so IPAF training incorporates comprehensive health and safety awareness and the safety equipment that should be used when working at height.
The IPAF training course is essential for any of your people that are going to be working on, or operating vertical platforms, truck or van mounted platforms, scissor lifts, telescopic and articulating booms and telehandlers which have integrated controls.
It is also worth remembering that if your machinery is upgraded or changed, you should ensure your people receive adequate familiarisation training in the new equipment.
There really is no substitute to feeling safe in the knowledge that you have provided your people with the right equipment, that they know how to use it and you have done as much as you can to ensure they will be safe.
