When thinking about all the wonderful inventions from the 20th Century, most of us probably think of things such as televisions, CD players, MP3 players, DVDs, cars and planes. To be honest though, the list of great inventions from the 20th Century is practically endless, the computer you’re using to view this website, the programs used to create it, the technology used to connect it all together, when you actually take time to think about it, the amount of things created in the past 100 years is quite mind boggling.
The inventions listed above were just some of the bigger ideas, if you start looking at all the smaller inventions then you’ll soon realise just how easy these inventions have made modern life. Small devices such as the calculator are miraculous inventions that save us an incredible amount of time and also virtually guarantee the answers that they give, they eliminate almost all aspects of human error.
One smaller invention which you probably don’t give a lot of though to, but which makes your life significantly easier, is the paint roller. Paint rollers were developed around the 1940s and were intended to be used as a paint brush replacement. Paint rollers made large painting jobs incredibly easy. With domestic paint rollers, such as those available from us at Trade 1st, coming in widths of up to 12 inches, you could literally paint one square foot within two seconds. Painting this small area with a paint brush would probably take at least one minute and you would not get anywhere near as smooth a finish as you would with a paint roller.
Paint rollers clearly help to make large painting jobs significantly quicker and easier. They are one invention that we should all take time to appreciate and be thankful for.
