Making the best use of a box room

Most people have a box room in their homes and it is often used as a home for the computer or as a study, which is probably the most perfect use for it. At the most you can usually fit a single bed in there to create an additional bedroom which is great, however it usually does not leave any room for anything else, meaning the study or computer area still needs a place.

To make multiple uses of a box room, then you really do need to box clever. If you need the extra room for guests but also need a place to act as an office or extra storage, then your choice of furniture needs to be carefully chosen.

Choose compact computer desks which can be slid shut to fit into a difficult space and make use of wall space if you need shelving or extra storage. Choosing futon beds is a really good choice of furniture also for a box room as when they are folded up like a sofa they take up little room, yet allow for a pull out bed should one be required.

At Beds Direct we stock a vast range of futon beds which will fit easily into any space. If your room can take it, then opt for double futons as they will just give you that little bit extra space. If the other uses for the room are more important then a single one will work just as well.

The great thing about having futon beds in a box room is that you are also creating a seating area which enables someone to be at the desk or computer whilst one is sat on the futon, or alternatively just gives you that chill out room where you can escape to read a book or chill out.
