Planning a birthday party for a child, whether it be for your own child, your niece, nephew or whoever, is a fantastic excuse to let your inner child escape. Children’s parties have so much more scope for ideas than adult parties, and you can even invite your adult friends along to a children’s party…they could always bring their own children if they do need an excuse! Here are some handy tips from Hydes Toys and Gifts Ltd to get your kids party started.
One of the first things you should begin thinking about is just where you are going to hold this children’s party and for how long. If there isn’t going to be much parental supervision, a couple of hours will probably be enough time for you to be responsible for numerous amounts of children without pulling your hair out! Equally, knowing what time the kids party is to be held will help give you an idea of how much time you have got for activities and so on; having a schedule allows things to run as smoothly as possible, and you should always allow plenty of time to organise the children! Additionally, if you are hosting the children’s party from 11am – 1pm you should note that you will probably be expected to feed the children. So, if you’re not wanting to have to provide a full meal for children (this is quite a lot of work, particularly if you holding the party in your own home) then having a party start time of around 2pm will avoid any food issues.
If you do choose to have food provided at your party, even if you are holding it at a venue, choosing food such as pizza, hot dogs, burgers, a finger buffet etc, are much easier to provide and clear up after, and they will be highly appreciated by your little guests. If you are having a themed birthday party (information on theme ideas are to follow!) then you could always tie this in with the food.
