Most cities have a lot of history. Liverpool is known for its role in the slave trade, but developments in health are also an important part of local history.

Liverpool was the first main city to offer nursing home care. Beds were taken out of bedrooms, placed downstairs in living rooms and they would receive visits from nurses that were employed in the private sector of medical care.Infectious diseases had grown to such as extent that there was not enough room in the hospitals wards up and down the country. Infection in families was rife with small pox, scarlet fever and typhoid taking over many homes.

The more extreme cases of chronically ill patients were the only ones who were admitted to hospital. Beds were in demand; however, there was an important issue regarding the need for more nursing staff and hospital equipment.

Home care is still happening and families are happy to learn we can provide a home care bed designed to meet the medical requirements of a family member.

Some of our other hospital equipment that can be used in the home is commodes and sani chairs which all contribute to a person living a dignified life.

Our new innovative home care beds are mechanical and come with side rails or no side rails and the can tip forward to allow a person to visit the bathroom without always being compelled to call for assistance. Adjustments can be made at head and foot of all our bed to allow a patient to have easy access in and out of bed.
