If your bathroom is passed its sell by date you may want to rip it out and start again. The chances are that you will want to replace your bathroom suite but before you buy a new toilet, sink and bath, take time to consider what you want from your new bathroom. For those of you simply refurbishing a property to sell on to make a profit, just changing the suite and retiling the bathroom for a modern look may be sufficient.
There’s no point spending a fortune remodeling the bathroom, fitting the latest technology such as heated towel rails, if you’re just going to sell the property.
However if you are intending stopping in the house for some years you need to decide what is going to be best for you and your family.
For older people, perhaps a bath is not the best idea. As we get older in life, a walk in shower may be the better alternative. Shower enclosures come in a variety of shapes and sizes so choose carefully and consider having a fold down shower seat installed if you are at all unsteady on your legs. For those of you with a family and restricted space in the bathroom it is always a good idea to install a shower over your bath. It takes less time to have a shower and this is useful during the morning rush for work and school.
You also need to think about bathroom radiators, mirrors and lighting. Anything that requires plumbing or electrics should be thought about in advance as it is too late once the walls have been tiled and the floor has been laid.
Here at SMR Bathrooms we have all different types of bathroom suites, showers and accessories you may need to make that perfect bathroom.
